Polling starts on dull note in U.P.

Polling for the seventh and final phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections covering 60 constituencies began on a slow note on Saturday with around 11 per cent of voters exercising their franchise in first two hours.
Polling on 60 seats, nearly half of which were bagged by BSP last time, in ten districts began at 7 AM and 10.6 per cent polling was registered in first two hours, Chief Electoral Officer Umesh Sinha said.

Sensex starts New Year on promising note, gains 69 points
Mumbai, January 2, 2012
Stock markets opened on a promising note on the first trading day of 2012 with the BSE benchmark Sensex gaining over 69 points in early trade.
The 30-share index rose by 69.12 points, or 0.45 per cent to trade higher at 15,524.04 points after the government decided to allow Qualified Foreign Investors to directly invest in the Indian equity market.
The Sensex had lost over 507 points in the previous four sessions.

Basel III norms will kick-start from January 1, 2013

The implementation of Basel III capital regulation will kick-start from January 1, 2013. It will be fully implemented by March 31, 2017. The Reserve Bank of India indicated this while releasing the draft guidelines outlining the proposed implementation of Basel III capital regulation in India.
