Mitt Romney on Tuesday effectively won the Republican Party crown to challenge President Barack Obama in November elections, as chief rival Rick Santorum dropped his long-shot White House bid.

206 killed in Republic of Congo blasts
BRAZZAVILLE (Republic of Congo), March 5, 2012
Blasts rocked the capital of the Republic of Congo Sunday morning after a weapons’ depot caught fire, officials said, killing at least 206 people and forcing thousands to flee.
A morgue in Brazzaville took in 136 bodies Sunday afternoon, as more continued to arrive. A local hospital reported at least 237 patients wounded in the blasts.

Delhi was under a blanket of security on the Republic Day today as thousands of armed personnel kept a tight vigil while Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and helicopters scanned the city from above.
