Pakistani Taliban training Frenchmen: Officials
DERA ISMAIL KHAN (PAKISTAN): Pakistani intelligence officials say dozens of French Muslims have been training with the Taliban in northwest Pakistan.
The officials said on Saturday they were investigating whether Mohamed Merah, a Frenchman of Algerian descent suspected of killing seven people in southern France, had been part of this group.

Write to Swiss officials, insists Supreme Court

The Supreme Court on Thursday asked Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to write to the Swiss authorities asking them to reopen money laundering cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. The Premier has been asked to submit a compliance report by March 21.

Bhubaneswar, July 8: Maoists set furniture and other stuff inside a police building on fire in Orissa's Keonjhar district and abducted a police officer, officials said today, the second day of the shutdown called by the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) in six states.

Pakistan volleyball game 'hit by suicide bomber'
A bomb has exploded close to a volleyball game in the troubled north-west of Pakistan, with as many as 20 people feared dead, officials say.
At least one home near the sports field collapsed, and people were said to be trapped under rubble.
