SC allows Italian ship, Marines to leave India
New Delhi, May 2, 2012
The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the release of Italian merchant navy ship Enrica Lexie, which was seized after two of its Marines had allegedly killed two Indian fishermen off Kerala coast in February this year.
The apex court also allowed four marines and six crew members on board it to leave Indian shores after the Italian government and the ship owner assured it that they will be available when required by Indian legal authorities.

Italian tour operator Bosusco Paolo was released by the Odisha State Organising Committee of the outlawed Communist Party of India(Maoist) in Kandhamal district on Thursday.
Secretary of the State unit of the party Sabyasachi Panda handed over the custody of Mr. Paolo to Dandapani Mohanty, one of the mediators who held talks with the government for the Italian citizen's release, near Raikia in Kandhamal as early as 5 am in the morning.

Odisha hostage crisis: Maoists free one Italian tourist
BHUBANESWAR: Police on Sunday said the Maoists released one of the two Italians, Claudio Colangelo, who were kidnapped 11 days ago in Odisha.
Speaking to reporters after his release, 61-year-old Claudio said: "They have finally released me today. Let's hope they release Paolo soon."

Deaths barred in Italian village

Since the start of the month it has been illegal to die in Falciano del Massico, a village of 3,700 people some 50 km from Naples in southern Italy.
Mayor Giulio Cesare Fava issued the tongue-in-cheek decree because the village has no cemetery and it is feuding with a nearby town that has one creating a logistical problem about what to do with the deceased.
The mayor told newspapers that villagers are content.

Two Marines of the Italian ship Enirca Lexie, charged with the killing of two Indian fishermen off Kerala, would be produced before a local magistrate here on Monday afternoon.
The Marines — Latorre Massimiliano and Salvatore Girone — were arrested by Kerala police on Sunday and brought to the land from the ship, which was intercepted and berthed at Cochin Port. They have been charged with murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Kerala police on Sunday took into custody two armed personnel of an Italian vessel from which gunshots were fired killing two fishermen off Alappuzha on Wednesday.
