13 Indians among 15 killed in Nepal plane crash
KATMANDU, May 14, 2012
Thirteen Indian pilgrims were among 15 persons killed on Monday when a small plane with 21 people on board crashed in northern Nepal after hitting a hill top while attempting to land at a high-altitude airport.
Six others, including three Indians and two Danish nationals, miraculously survived the crash of the Dornier 9N AIG aircraft belonging to the private carrier Agni Air, nearly eight months after 10 Indians perished in an air disaster near here.

Indian Bank Q4 net down 21%

Indian Bank reported a decline of 21 per cent in its net profit in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 at Rs. 345.42 crore against Rs. 438.86 crore in the same period in the previous year. This was mainly due to reversal of interest on account of restructured loans and excess provisioning against non-performing loans.

SC allows Italian ship, Marines to leave India
New Delhi, May 2, 2012
The Supreme Court on Wednesday ordered the release of Italian merchant navy ship Enrica Lexie, which was seized after two of its Marines had allegedly killed two Indian fishermen off Kerala coast in February this year.
The apex court also allowed four marines and six crew members on board it to leave Indian shores after the Italian government and the ship owner assured it that they will be available when required by Indian legal authorities.

Telenor to write down $682 m India exposure

Norwegian telecom company Telenor on Monday said it will write down $682 million to remove accounting exposure to India due to uncertain business environment in the sector.
The company said its decision follows spectrum auction recommendations by telecom regulator TRAI after the Supreme Court had cancelled 122 telecom licences, including 22 of the Norwegian firm, in the 2G spectrum case.

‘Shooting of Indian student in Boston not hate crime’

A24-year-old Indian student, who was found dead near the Boston University campus, was not a victim of hate crime and his killing appears to be an isolated incident, a prominent Indian-American organisation has said.
Odisha native K. Seshadri Rao, a student at Boston University’s Graduate School of Management, was shot in the head and leg in the early hours of April 19.
He was pronounced dead on the scene by Boston police.
