'Rs 35L earmarked for Rose Festival

The uncertainty over the upcoming Rose Festival is finally over as finance and contract committee (F&CC) of the Chandigarh municipal corporation on Thursday approved budget of Rs 34.73 lakh for organizing the rose festival. Significantly, all the expenses will not be incurred by MC only.
The budget will be shared by both tourism wing of the Chandigarh administration and Chandigarh municipal corporation.

Rushdie video discussion to go ahead at Lit Fest

Ending the suspense, Jaipur Literature Festival organisers on Tuesday said the video session with India-born author Salman Rushdie will take place as planned after Rajasthan government gave the go ahead.
“We have received information that there was no requirement of any permission,” Festival producer Sanjoy Roy told reporters. The five-day festival ends today.
