Bahraini opposition groups claimed on Saturday that a man was killed during clashes with security forces, threatening to sharply escalate the Gulf nation's unrest as officials struggle under the world spotlight as hosts of the Formula One Grand Prix. Rushdie video discussion to go ahead at Lit Fest

Ending the suspense, Jaipur Literature Festival organisers on Tuesday said the video session with India-born author Salman Rushdie will take place as planned after Rajasthan government gave the go ahead.
“We have received information that there was no requirement of any permission,” Festival producer Sanjoy Roy told reporters. The five-day festival ends today.

Ahead of U.P. polls, Uma Bharti re-inducted into BJP

Nearly six years after she was expelled from the party, firebrand Hindutva leader Uma Bharti was on Tuesday re-inducted into the BJP that entrusted her with the task of looking after Uttar Pradesh which is going to polls next year.

Will Pak-China steam ahead in space tech?
MUMBAI: India has embarked on a nearly Rs 13,000-crore human space flight programme which envisages developing a fully autonomous orbital vehicle carrying two or three crew members to an altitude of about 300 km in the low-earth orbit and bringing them back after about a week.
