PM’s panel projects 7.5-8 pc growth

The Prime Minister’s economic advisory panel on Wednesday projected 7.5-8 per cent growth rate for the next fiscal and said the country can achieve a higher economic expansion if the global environment turns favourable.

Telenor to set up new firm, to part ways with Unitech

Investors have not lost confidence in telecom sector: Sibal

Air India lenders clear Rs.18,000-cr debt recast

Lenders of cash-strapped Air India on Friday approved its corporate debt restructuring plan worth Rs.18,000 crore and decided to provide a fresh cash credit of Rs.2,200 crore.

The Centre on Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking review of its verdict holding that the Indian Income Tax Department does not have jurisdiction to levy Rs. 11,000 crore as tax on the overseas deal between Vodafone International Holdings and Hutchison Group.

Tata Motors shares jump over 7%

Shares of Tata Motors surged by over 7 per cent in morning trade on Wednesday, a day after the company reported 40.5 per cent jump in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 2011.
